Mrs. J.E. Sogard, 72, of Ames died Wednesday morning at the Ames hospital. She leaves her husband, two sons, Marvin of Charles City and Walter of Chicago, and two daughters, Irene at home and Delma of Omaha, and her brother, John Textrum of Ames.

Mrs. Sogard was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hans Textrum and spent her early years on the home farm south of Stanhope. She married J.E. Sogard and for many years lived in Stanhope, during the time Mr. Sogard was cashier of the Stanhope bank. About twenty-five years ago the Sogards moved to Ames, but were often in Stanhope as Mr. Sogard has a farm just a few miles southeast of town.

Mrs. Sogard was a Christian woman of fine character, and was admired by her many friends and acquaintances here.

Her funeral services will be held at the Ames Lutheran church on Sunday at 2 p.m. and burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope.
