SERVICES TO BE HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. SNYDER

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Snyder, 68, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home here, the Rev. Farnham officiating. Burial in Lawn Hill cemetery, near Stanhope.

Mrs. Snyder, former Stanhope and Webster City resident, died Thursday morning in Des Moines, where she had made her home the past year. She had been in poor health several years, and seriously ill the past seven weeks.

Bessie Mable Philp, daughter of James and Anne Philp, was born Oct. 5, 1876, on a farm near Traer, Iowa. She received her elementary education there and at the age of 15 moved with her parents to Reinbeck, where she was graduated from high school.

Later she came to Hamilton county and March 25, 1903, was married to William B. Snyder at Webster City. They farmed near Stanhope until 1915, when they moved to a place near Forest City, residing there until they retired and moved into Forest City in 1920.

December, 1930, they came to Webster City. Mr. Snyder died April 3, 1933 and Mrs. Snyder had since made her home with her daughter in Nevada. A year ago they moved to Des Moines.

Besides her daughter, Leona Snyder, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and four brothers.

Baptized in the Methodist faith, Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Methodist church at Nevada.
