Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Thursday, April 6, 1933

William Burton Snyder, youngest son of Abraham and Matilda Snyder, was born at Stanhope May 29, 1875 and at 5:20 Monday morning passed very quietly and peacefully into the Great Beyond. He was reared on a farm near Stanhope.

March 25, 1903 he was married to Bessie Philp in the Methodist parsonage of this city by the pastor, who is today Bishop Johnson. To this union one child was born, Leona.

Mr. and Mrs. Snyder lived 12 years on a farm near Stanhope and 16 years in Forest City. Since Jan. 1, 1931 had lived in Webster City where Mr. Snyder had been manager of the Champlin service station. In his youth he was united with the Methodist church of Stanhope.

Aside from his wife and daughter, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Riley of Jewell, and Mrs. Mary Jones of Seattle, Wash., and two brothers, Ed Snyder and Andrew Snyder, both of Stanhope, and many other relatives and friends.
