Webster City Freeman, Webster City, Iowa, Monday, May 19, 1919

Marie Jensen was born Dec. 14, 1868, in Ydby, Denmark. She had thus reached the age of fifty years, four months and twenty-nine days on the day of her death.

She came to the United States in 1891 and was united in marriage to Louis Peterson July 30, 1892. They made their home at Toledo, Iowa for two years and since that time they have lived at Stanhope, Iowa. Eight children were born to them, two boys dying in infancy. The living are Mrs. Carrie Tolstrup, Oscar Peterson, Peter Peterson, Mrs. Minnie Cottington, Theodore Peterson and Miss Florence Peterson.

The parents of Mrs. Peterson and three sisters and one brother, all living in Denmark; one sister and two brothers living in Minnesota, with the two grandchildren, Janet Tolstrup and Wayne Peterson, join the others in mourning the sad taking away of their loved one.

"Sister, thou was mild and lovely,
Gentle as the summer breeze,
Pleasant as the air of evening,
When it floats among the trees.

Peaceful be thy silent slumber,
Peaceful as the grave so low,
Thou no more will join our number,
Thou no more our songs shall know.

Dearest sister, thou hast left us;
Here thy loss we deeply feel,
But 'tis God that hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled;
Then in heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed."
