Louis Peterson, son of Peder Thomas Sejersbol and Karen Jensen, was born March 8, 1866 in Heltborg Sogn, Denmark. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clair Cottington, Sunday morning, Feb. 14, 1932. His age, 65 years, 11 months, 6 days.

His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. One brother, Martin, still lives in Denmark.

In 1887 Mr. Peterson came to this country and located in Hamilton county. At first he found employment on a farm near Kamrar, but soon took up railroad work which he followed for 22 years.

July 30, 1892 he was married to Marie Jensen, at Toledo, Iowa. To this union eight children were born. They are: Mrs. Carrie Tolstrup, of near Kamrar, Mrs. Minnie Cottington, living east of Boone; Oscar, Peter and Theodore, of Stanhope, and Mrs. Florence Wall of Aurelia. Two children, Theodore E. and Thorwald died in infancy.

In 1894 Mr. and Mrs. Peterson established their home in Stanhope and here they continued to reside until March 1910 when they moved to their farm five miles northeast of Stanhope. Mrs. Peterson died May 13, 1919 leaving the whole responsibility of home maintenance to Mr. Peterson. He continued on the farm until March 1929 when he moved back into the home in Stanhope. For the past year he had made his home with the children. The last week of his life he spent in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cottington, east of Boone.

Mr. Peterson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of Heltborg, Denmark. For many years he had been a faithful attendant and supporter of the Stanhope Christian church. He was a man of sterling, Christian character. He was conscientious and willing to help in every good work. He was industrious and thrifty and enjoyed the blessings he received. He was anxious for his children's well being not only temporarily but also spiritually. To have given to the world a family of Christian children was the finest evidence of real success in life. The example of his life is a real heritage to his children.

Mr. Peterson suffered from a chronic ailment for a number of years, but his going was sudden and quite unexpected.

He leaves to mourn his going his six children, nine grandchildren, his brother and a host of friends.

May God richly bless the sorrowing ones and all the friends is our earnest prayer.
