Word was received here Friday of the death of Mrs. Alfred Peterson, who passed away at her home in Stratford from cancer of the liver.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson and family of near Scarville, Iowa, visited with relatives in Stanhope and vicinity the first of the week, after having attended the funeral of Mr. Peterson's mother, Mrs. Alfred Peterson, which was held at Stratford Sunday.
