DIES AT HOME OF HER SISTER

Funeral Services for Florence Nelson, 19, to Be Saturday

Florence Annette Nelson, 19, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Gayle Groves, three and a half miles west of Jewell. She had been ill several months.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stanhope Lutheran church, preceded by a brief service at the Groves home at 1:15 p.m. The Rev. Odean Munson will officiate and burial will be made in Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope with Foster's in charge.

She was born Feb. 25, 1922 in Stanhope and attended the schools there until she was 13 years old when the family moved to Northfield. After a year there they moved to Cedar Falls where they lived a year and then went to Greene, where Florence was graduated from the high school. She attended Iowa State Teachers college Cedar Falls where she was a member of Phi Sigma sorority.

Her father died in 1935. She leaves her mother, Mrs. Maude Nelson, two sisters, Mrs. Groves and Mrs. Graver, of Superior, Wis., and two brothers, Harlan, of Peoria, Ill., and Jerome, of Michigan and one nephew, Richard Jerome Nelson.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
