RITES TO BE HELD TUESDAY

Mrs. Anna Jacobson, 86, Died Saturday at Hospital Here

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Stanhope Christian church for Mrs. Anna Jacobson, 86, who died Saturday afternoon at the hospital in Webster City, where she had been a patient for two days. Death was caused by complications and senility.

The services at the church will be preceded by a short service at the Foster funeral home at 1:45 o'clock. Burial will be in Lawn Hill cemetery, the Rev. Schmidt of Stanhope officiating.

Mrs. Jacobson, the former Anna Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Swan Nelson, was born Nov. 15, 1857 in Moline, Ill. In 1867 she came with her parents in a covered wagon to Iowa, the family first locating on a farm in the east Marion vicinity. They later moved to Mineral Ridge, Boone county.

She was married to John Jacobson, Jan. 21, 1876 by the Hon. Augustus Anderson, state senator. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson lived on the old home place in east Marion until retiring in 1904 to Stanhope.

Mr. Jacobson died in 1931 and Mrs. Jacobson was also preceded in death by her parents, three sons, one daughter and one sister. Surviving are one son, Henry of Stanhope, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Mathilda Bjustrom, lives at Boone and another sister, Mrs. J.H. Juber in Des Moines.

Mrs. Jacobson was baptized in the Christian faith. Always a kind and good neighbor, her main interests in life centered in her home and friends. She will be missed by a host of neighbors and friends.
