Dies at Madrid

Joseph J. Jackson, 84, formerly of Stanhope, died at 2:15 p.m. yesterday at the Lutheran home for the Aged at Madrid. He had been a patient there for the past four weeks.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with the Rev. Walter E. Carlson officiating and with burial in Lawn Hill cemetery. The Foster funeral home is in charge of services.

Joseph J. Jackson, son of Jacob and Martha Jackson, was born Jan. 5, 1868 in Illinois. He was reared and educated in Illinois and was united in marriage there to Miss Anna Johnson. After several years spent in Illinois, they moved to Stanhope where he farmed for awhile before entering the implement business at Stanhope.

He was preceded in death by his wife, by his parents, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by one son, Allen Jackson of St. Charles, Ill.; one granddaughter and two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Knight of Stanhope and Mrs. Elizabeth Greenwood of Waterloo.
