Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Monday, September 12, 1966

STANHOPE - Emily Amanda Hanson, daughter of Sven and Matilda Hanson, was born in Clear Lake township, Stanhope, Iowa, on March 13, 1877. She died September 2, 1966 at the Iowa Lutheran Home in Madrid at the age of 89 years. In her early years she taught school in the Stanhope vicinity.

On September 1, 1897, she was united in marriage to Peter Hove. To this union were born one son and three daughters.

Mrs. Hove lived in Stanhope until August, 1947 when she moved to Boone where she resided until September, 1956, at which time she moved to the Lutheran Home at Madrid.

Mrs. Hove and her husband were charter members of Our Savior's Lutheran church of Stanhope, but while in Boone she was a member of the Augustana Lutheran church.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died on Oct. 18, 1936.

She is survived by E. Marie Hove, Ames, Leslie Hove, Stanhope, Mrs. R.W. (Gladys) Christensen, Burlington, Mrs. M.H. (Arline) Sylvester, Albuquerque, N.M., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church Monday afternoon with burial at the Lawn Hill cemetery.
