E.M. HOVE, 72, DIES AT AMES

Funeral to Be Tuesday for Stanhope Man

A widely known Stanhope farmer, E.M. Hove, 72, died at 3:50 Saturday afternoon at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, where he had been a patient since July 16. His death was attributed to complications following a stroke of paralysis. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Stanhope Lutheran church with Fosters in charge. A brief service will be held at 1:30 at the farm home, two and one-half miles southeast of Stanhope. The Rev. Odean Munson will officiate and burial will be in Lawn Hill cemetery.

The son of Muns and Anna Hove, Ed M. Hove was born Oct. 11, 1873, on a farm in Hamilton county near Stanhope. He was educated in that community.

Oct. 11, 1910, he was married to Hulda Erickson. For two years they lived on the home farm, then moving to the present farm home, two and one-half miles southeast of Stanhope, where they have since lived.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Annis (Myrtle) Clark of West Des Moines, Mrs. J.F. (Evelyn) Arrasmith of Alexandria, Va., and Miss Lovona Hove of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Melvin Hove of Ames and Erwin Hove at home; six grandchildren, Dick, Sandra and Melva Jo Hove, Jerry Clark, Freddie and Buddie Arrasmith; two brothers, Martin and Henry Hove of Stanhope, and one sister, Mrs. S.J. Severson of Minneapolis, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hove was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the church at Stanhope.
