Uva Hanson, age 88 of Forest City, died Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 10:30 AM at Petersen Lund Funeral Home with Pastor Jerald Swanberg officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery in Stanhope, Iowa. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the funeral home. Uva Arlene Hanson was born on July 12, 1918 in Forest City, the daughter of Nels and Lilly (Jacobson) Thompson. She attended the Forest City schools where she graduated in 1938. She later moved to California where she met her husband Herman Hanson. They were married on September 1, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent most of their married life in the Sacramento, CA area. After her husband'­s death, Uva moved to Santa Ana, CA where she resided until moving back to Forest City to live with her sister. She was presently residing at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City. For a time Uva worked at the Fairview State Hospital in Costa Mesa, CA until her retirement. She spent many hours working in her garden and lawn. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts and sewing. [can't get the rest of the obituary]
