Memorial services for Orville Charlson, 64, a former resident of Hamilton county, were held Dec. 21 at Mesa, Ariz., with the services being held at the First Lutheran church, the Rev. Ernest B. Steen officiating.

Mrs. Egbert Boe was vocal soloist at the memorial services. Cremation was at the Greenwood Crematory, Phoenix, Ariz.

Mr. Charlson, who farmed for many years southwest of Jewell, died Thursday, Dec. 19, at Mesa, after having been hospitalized since Oct. 24.

Orville Charlson, who resided at 5545 East Colby in Mesa, was born March 25, 1910 at Story City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Charlson.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Elim Lutheran church at Randall.

On June 20, 1941 he was united in marriage to Inez Iverson at Stanhope, and two sons, David of Tempe, Ariz., and Richard of Portland, Oreg., were born to this union.

The family farmed near Jewell until physical disability caused a move to Mesa in 1964.

Surviving are his wife; two sons; two grandsons; five brothers and two sisters, Carter of Ames, Earl of Webster City, Lyle of Bennett, Mo., Herbert of Osage, Wilmer of Albert Lea, Minn., Mrs. Wesley (Sylvia) Doolittle of Story City and Mrs. Glenn (Ethel) Lenning of Radcliffe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
