STRATFORD - Funeral services for Miss Victoria Bute, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home in Stratford, followed by services at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian church in Stanhope. Burial will be made in the Lawn Hill cemetery in Stanhope.
Miss Bute died Tuesday at the Story City hospital following a seven-day illness.
Miss Bute was born Nov. 1, 1894 at Stanhope, the daughter of Samuel and Susan [Sneesby] Bute. She was reared and educated in the Stanhope community, and worked in a drug store at Fort Dodge. She later served as an assistant postmaster at Stanhope and also was a bookkeeper at the Stanhope Farmers' Elevator. She had been a resident of Stratford for 25 years.
Miss Bute had resided at East Lane Manor in Jewell for the past 18 months.
She was a member of the Stratford Royal Neighbor lodge.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. A.W. (Eunice) Miller of Stratford; one nephew, Wilson Shall Miller of California, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Josephine and Patricia Ann.
