FUNERAL ON SUNDAY

Was Formerly Postmaster and Mail Carrier for Long Time

(By Long Distance Phone)

Stanhope, Iowa, March 22 - S.C. Bute, for many years a resident of this town and who was widely known especially over the southern part of Hamilton county, died last night at 10 o'clock at his home here, following a stroke of paralysis. The funeral will be held Sunday.

Mr. Bute had been in poor health for some weeks, following an attack of the flu. His death last night, however, was sudden and unexpected. Mrs. Bute [Susan Ann Sneesby] and two daughters, Misses Eunice and Victoria, survive him. Miss Eunice is postmaster, which position was formerly held by her father.

Mr. Bute was between 65 and 70 years of age. He had lived in Stanhope for many years and had always been prominently identified with the various town and community activities. His health for some years, however, had not been the best.
