Jewell Record, Jewell, Iowa, Thursday, April 15, 1920

Word was received Tuesday morning by relatives at Stanhope of the death of Mrs. Frank Stahl, the daughter of Mrs. A.E. Billington, who was one of the pioneer families of Stanhope.

Jennie, Mrs. Frank Stahl, passed away at Mercy Hospital, at Webster City, at 7:30 Monday morning after an illness of two weeks from pneumonia and gall stones. The deceased was born in Grundy county in 1873 [daughter of David & Annie Bute Billington]. When she was a young girl she moved to Kansas with her folks and from there came to Iowa and located at Stanhope where she grew to young womanhood. She was married in 1891 to Frank Stahl, of Webster City, where she lived until her death.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her death two daughters, Mrs. Platers Lillegard and Mrs. Mabel Palmer, and two sons, Fred and William Stahl, all of Webster City. One son, Arthur, died about three years ago. Other relatives who survive are her mother, Mrs. A.E. Billington, of Minneapolis, two brothers and six sisters, Bud Billington of Vancouver, Wash., Junior Billington of Ollie, Montana, Mrs. James Darcy of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. O.A. Shaw, Mrs. Alfred Harvey and Mrs. I.J. Cross, of Minneapolis, Mrs. Henry Stahl and Mrs. B.E. Russell, of Webster City. One sister, Alice (Mrs. Herman Cook), and one brother, Leaf Billington, died several years ago. Mrs. Stahl was one of the most highly respected residents of Webster City and her passing will be deeply mourned by a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from Webster City.
