David Billington, a pioneer settler of Hamilton county, passed away at his home in Stanhope at about 11 o'clock Thursday forenoon of last week following a three months illness. Mr. Billington first suffered with grippe which later developed into heart trouble and other complications.

David Billington was born in Indiana, 76 years ago the 15th of last August. He was united in marriage with Miss Anna Bute at Eldora, Iowa, May 4, 1866, forty-nine years ago, their golden wedding anniversary being only about a month away. Mr. and Mrs. Billington lived in Illinois during the first years of their married life, moving to Stanhope from Peoria, Ill., about thirty-three years ago, where they have since made their home.

The deceased is survived by his wife, seven daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. J.H. Stahl of Webster City, Mrs. H.H. Russell and Mrs. Frank Stahl, Highview, Mrs. A. Harvey, Mrs. O.A. Shaw, Mrs. J.S. Darcy and Mrs. I.J. Cross, all of Minneapolis, Junior Billington, Olive, Montana and B.T. Billington, Sheridan, Wash.

The daughter from Webster City and the two from Highview went to Stanhope Thursday afternoon and Mrs. Darcy and Mr. Cross arrived from Minneapolis Friday morning. The other Minneapolis relatives arrived Friday. Neither son was able to come. Junior Billington, however, spent several weeks with his father during his illness, having returned to his home in Montana two weeks ago.
