Funeral services for Edward J. Young, 75, longtime Stanhope-Stratford area resident, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian church in Stanhope with the Rev. Richard L. Miller officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Mr. Young died suddenly Monday morning at Stanhope.

Edward John Young, son of Jonas and Hilda Bocklund Young, was born June 27, 1899 near Stratford, where he was reared and educated.

He was united in marriage Aug. 23, 1922 to Hazel Riley and the couple made their home on a farm near Stratford until 1933 when they moved to a farm near Stanhope.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert E. Young of Stanhope and Roger E. Young, Iowa Falls; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Art Young, Wallace Young, Oscar Young and Floyd Young, all of Stratford, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Simonson of Stratford and Mrs. Bernice Benedict of Rialto, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a member of the Christian church at Stanhope and had served as trustee for many years. He was also a member of the Stanhope Lions club.
