Mrs. Harry (Rose) Wininger, 81, a longtime resident of the Stanhope community, died Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been a patient there the past five days, but had been in failing health the past six years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist church in Stanhope with the Rev. Robert Winter officiating and with burial in Lawn Hill cemetery southeast of Stanhope. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.

Rose Bockwoldt, daughter of Frank and Johanna Bockwoldt, was born March 26, 1889 near Kamrar. She was reared and educated in the Stanhope community.

She was united in marriage Feb. 25, 1920 to Harry Alfred Wininger, and the couple made their home on a farm northeast of Stanhope, moving into Stanhope 18 years ago.

Mrs. Wininger was an active member of the WSCS and served for many years as a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters and one son, Mrs. Harold (Myrtle) Dow of Dows, Iowa, Mrs. Ralph (Bertha) Perry of Ankeny and Ray Wininger of Stanhope; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and one sister, Arthur Bockwoldt, Stanhope, and Mrs. Arvid (Elma) Sealine of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the United Methodist church.
