STANHOPE - A memorial service was held Saturday, June 9 for Elmer Leland Snyder, 86, a former Stanhope area resident, who died Jan. 13, 1990 at the Bellevue Care Center in Tacoma, Wash. The service was held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanhope, Pastor Enoch Hall of Story City officiating.

Mr. Snyder was born Feb. 2, 1903 in Kellogg. He lived most of his life in Stanhope, where he received his education. Six years ago, he moved to Olympia, Wash., and then to Mason County.

He is survived by a son, Richard L. Snyder, Grapeview, Wash.; two sisters, Maxine Miller, Sun City West, Ariz., and Mildred Hawthorne, Canon City, Colo.; and two brothers, Everett Snyder, Boone and Kermit Snyder, Bryan, Texas.
