Lowell E. Snyder, 50, died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient since March 16. He had been in poor health for about two months but more seriously ill the past week.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church in Stanhope preceded by a brief service at 1:30 at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Read, in Stanhope. The Rev. R.J. Richards will officiate with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery. Foster's funeral home is in charge of services.

Lowell Edgar Snyder, son of John E. and Cora Jane Snyder, was born July 9, 1900 on a farm near Stanhope. He was educated in the Stanhope schools and had lived his entire life in Stanhope.

He was employed in the Read garage at Stanhope for several years. For the last 10 years he had been employed in the trucking business, being associated with the Melford E. Hove truck line.

He is survived by one brother and four sisters: Luverne of Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. C.G. (Golda) Scott of Stanhope, Mrs. C.J. (Agnes) Tjernagel of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Mrs. H.A. (Hazel) Read of Stanhope and Mrs. A.C. (Vernice) Christenson of Jewell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a friendly, energetic man who had made many friends during his lifelong residence in the Stanhope community.
