Emmet C. Redic, 59, long time resident of Stanhope died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 9, at the Veterans' hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient the past month. He had been in ill health the past two months.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, at the Christian church in Stanhope, preceded by a brief service at 1:30 at the family home in Stanhope. The Rev. T.M. Walton officiated, and burial was made in Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Emmet Cecil Redic, son of Joe and Belle Redic, was born February 3, 1895 on a farm near Stahl, Mo. He was reared and educated in Missouri, and was 17 years old when he came to Iowa, locating at Stanhope.

He served in World War I.

He was united in marriage on March 5, 1924 to Leora Philp, and with the exception of two years at Waterloo, the family had always resided at Stanhope.

Mr. Redic served as custodian of the Stanhope school for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Gerald Redic of Fort Dodge, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Ralph Major of Kirksville, Mo., Noah Redic of Elkhart, Iowa, Everett Redic of Waterloo and Forrest Redic of Novinger, Mo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Redic was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of the Methodist church at Waterloo. He was a member of the American Legion post at Webster City.
