Mrs. Inger B. Nelson, 86, a former longtime Stanhope resident, died early this morning at the Careview Nursing Home in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with Rev. Kent S. Larson officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Inger B. Hanson, daughter of Hans and Elizabeth Satre Hanson, was born Jan. 18, 1898 at Stanhope, where she was reared and educated. She taught in the rural schools in the Stanhope area.

She was married Nov. 16, 1923 to Nels Herman Nelson and the couple made their home in Stanhope.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 3, 1957, but she continued to live in Stanhope until 1971, when she moved to Minneapolis. For the past two years she had resided at the Careview Nursing Home in Minneapolis.

She is survived by one son, Roger Nelson, Burnsville, Minn., two grandchildren, Christie and Brian Nelson, Burnsville; one brother, Earling Hanson of Cedar Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope.
