Ione Meyer, 95, Boone and former Stanhope resident, died Dec. 18, 1996 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone, with Rev. David Abram officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery, rural Stanhope. Visitation will be at the chapel today until 9 p.m. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Ione Knight, daughter of James and Mattie Jackson Knight, was born Oct. 29, 1901 in Stanhope. On Dec. 7, 1921 she married Eugene Meyer in Nashua. She and her husband farmed near Stanhope, and they moved to Boone in 1976.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Juanita Meyer, Boone; grandchildren, Jim Meyer, Omaha, Neb., and Karen Blend, Eldridge; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; one sister; one step-granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson.

Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church of Boone. She was also a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Stanhope.

Memorials may be given to the Augustana Lutheran Church or to the Eastern Star Masonic Home.
