Paul M. Muessigmann, 57, longtime Stanhope area resident died suddenly Saturday evening at his home.

Funeral services were Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Webster City and with the Rev. Jack Heino officiating and with burial in Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope.

Paul Matthew Muessigmann, son of Henry and Mary Schnable Muessigmann, was born Feb. 17, 1918 in Franklin County, Iowa. He was reared and educated in the Hampton-Geneva area. He attended schools in Maysville township.

On Aug. 10, 1938 he was united in marriage to Esther Louise Seims at Riceville, Ia., and the couple lived in the Hampton area a short time then moved to the Stanhope area where they have been residing for about 20 years. Mr. Muessigmann had been serving as a custodian at the Boone county hospital in Boone.

He is survived by his wife Esther, five sons and two daughters, Richard of Stanhope, Donald of Nora Springs, William of Stanhope, Mrs. David (Pauline) Lybarger of Slater, Mrs. Luverne (Phyllis) Range of Ames, Gerald of Ames and Duane of Stanhope and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Webster City.
