STRATFORD - Eunice A. Butte [Bute] Miller, 84, of Stanhope, died at the Mary Greeley hospital Monday.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian church in Stanhope and the Rev. Richard Miller officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery east of Stanhope. Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home in Stratford Thursday until 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church in Stanhope.

Survivors include one son, Shal Miller of Denver, Colo., a foster-daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hamilton Jeffries of Des Moines; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, who died in 1945; one daughter, Patricia Ann, and three sisters.

She was born Aug. 12, 1892 in Stanhope, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel C. Bute.

In 1928 she married Albert Wilson Miller at Peoria, Ill.

She was a former school teacher and postmistress in the Stanhope community and was employed by the government with the bonding division in Chicago until her retirement.

She was a charter member of the Stanhope Christian church where she was active in many church activities.
