Leo Hove, 78, Stanhope, died Jan. 10, 1996 in Tucson, Ariz. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Stanhope, with Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Leo Adolph Hove, son of Peter and Bertha Nelson Hove, was born Feb. 5, 1917 on a farm south of Stanhope. He attended school in Stanhope and graduated in 1936. On Oct. 2, 1940 he married Lois Snyder in Webster City. The couple farmed north of Stanhope, retiring in 1982. They had wintered in Casa Grande, Ariz., for the past 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Hove, Stanhope; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Kay Hove, Omaha, Neb.; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Hove, Des Moines, Linda and Dennis Sailing, Janesville, Wis., Patricia Quam, Ankeny; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Merle Hove, Chelan, Wash.; sisters, Bernice Oppedahl, Boone, Ina Knezevich, California; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Hove.
