James K. Hill II, 67, rural Stanhope, died suddenly Wednesday, July 10, at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church in Stanhope, Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Graveside flag-folding services will be conducted by American Legion Post 191 of Webster City. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City will be after 6 p.m. today until 8 a.m. Saturday.

James Kenneth Hill II, son of James Kenneth and Lila Mae (Neel) Hill, was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Webster City. He was educated in Stanhope, and graduated from Stanhope High School in 1941. He married Betty Jean Frederickson on June 16, 1942. The couple resided in Stanhope, where Mr. Hill farmed. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Following his discharge, he returned to Stanhope, where he continued farming until 1972. He was then employed as an over the road truck driver for 3-M, retiring in August 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean, Stanhope; a son, Jeff Hill, Jewell; a daughter, Jane (Mrs. Greg) Olson, Story City; nine grandchildren; his mother, Lila Hill, Webster City; two brothers, Neel Hill, Webster City, and Gene Hill, Ankeny; and a sister, Mary (Mrs. Marvin) Davis, Boone.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, James Kenneth Hill III.

Mr. Hill was a member of the Church of Christ in Stanhope, and American Legion Post 191 of Webster City.
