Owen Henderson, 33, of Chicago, Ill., a former resident of the Stanhope area, died early Tuesday morning at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's hospital in Chicago where he'd been a patient for five weeks.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian church in Stanhope with the Rev. Traverce Harrison officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery southeast of Stanhope.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home after 5 p.m. today and until 9:30 a.m. Friday when the casket will be taken to the church.

William Owen Henderson, son of William and Nilva Jean Riley Henderson, was born Sept. 11, 1951 at Ames. He was educated at Stanhope, graduating in 1969 from the South Hamilton high school. He was graduated from the Worshams School of Mortuary in Chicago and the Roosevelt University of Chicago.

He had been employed with the Social Security Administration in Chicago prior to his illness.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Mrs. David (Ann) Kennedy of Woolstock and Mrs. Lynn (Billie) Shelton of Stanhope; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Knight of Stanhope; four nephews and two nieces, Mark and Mike Kennedy, William Shelton, Jean Shelton, Tamara Shelton and Travis Shelton.

He was a member of the Christian church in Stanhope.
