Lucille Hanson, 90, Stanhope, died June 1, 1993 at Grandview Care Center in Dayton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Stanhope with the Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Foster Funeral home until 8 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Neva Lucille Philp, daughter of James and Wilhelmina (Snyder) Philp, was born June 16, 1902 on a farm near Stanhope. She attended rural schools and also the Stanhope School.

On Jan. 17, 1923, she married Theodore Lawrence Hanson at Webster City. The couple farmed near St. James, Minn. for seven years. They then farmed in the Stanhope area until 1966 when they moved to Stanhope. Her husband died in February of 1970. Following her husband's death, she continued to reside in Stanhope. For the past nine months, she has resided at Grandview.

She is survived by sons, Mervin and Dale, both of Stanhope; daughters, Lorraine Collins of Carrollton, Ga., Evelyn Tiernan of Fort Dodge, Sandra Miller of Stanhope; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Stanhope, United Methodist Women, the Hamilton Get-Together Club, Stanhope Senior Citizens and the E.O.T. Club.
