Herman H. Hanson, 68, of Sacramento, Calif., a former Stanhope resident, died Tuesday at Mercy hospital in Sacramento where he had been a patient for four weeks. He had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with the Rev. Enoch Hall officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home Friday evening.

The body will later lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service.

Herman H. Hanson, son of Hans and Elizabeth Satre Hanson, was born April 9, 1904 at Stanhope. He was reared and educated in Stanhope and graduated from Stanhope high school.

He was united in marriage Sept. 1, 1946 to Uva Thompson, and the couple made their home in Sacramento.

Mr. Hanson had been a salesman supervisor with an Educational correspondence school.

He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. Inger B. Nelson of Bloomington, Minn., two brothers, Gasper Hanson of Stanhope and Earling Hanson of Cedar Rapids; and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

He was a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope.
