Joe Hagan, 90, Webster City, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell, with Rev. Tim Nappe officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Hill Cemetery near Stanhope. Friends may call Thursday prior to services at the funeral home.

Joe T. Hagan, son of Robert and Mary Ellen (McIntire) Hagan, was born July 9, 1907 in Fountain Run, Ky. On Aug. 4, 1935, he married Margaret Mae West in Webster City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an agent for Standard Oil for many years in the Stanhope area.

He is survived by a son, Robert Joseph Hagan, Fort Dodge; two daughters, Veronica Johnson, Jewell and Barbara Ann Nelson, Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister Flossie Eaton, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1991; four brothers; four sisters; and a grandchild.

Mr. Hagan was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years and was an active participant of Congregate Meals at Webster City.
