Funeral services for Marlin O. Granville, 69, of Des Moines, a former Stanhope resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with the Rev. Dwight McElree officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Mr. Granville died at 4:30 a.m. Monday at Crestview Manor where he had resided since January.

Marlin O. Granville, son of Hilman and Teresse Nibe Granville, was born Aug. 3, 1909 at Stanhope, where he was reared and educated.

He was married in December, 1932 to Helen Reed, and the couple resided in Stanhope and Ankeny, later moving to Des Moines where he had retired from the Firestone Tire Co. in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jan. 1, 1970, and he continued to reside in Des Moines until moving to Webster City last January.

He is survived by one son, Ronald Granville, Omaha, Neb., one daughter, Marilyn Jones of Des Moines; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Hilman Granville of Stanhope; two brothers and two sisters, Herbert Granville, Webster City, Mrs. Al (Ruby) Keese, Boone, Orelin Granville, Des Moines and Mrs. Florence Byers, Stanhope, also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father and one brother who died in infancy.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope.
