Funeral services for Mrs. Furman Davis, 56, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home, the Rev. Robert Karl Miller of Stanhope will officiate. Burial will be in Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Mrs. Davis, a longtime resident of the Stanhope community, died suddenly Thursday morning at her home 3-1/2 miles southeast of Stanhope. She had been in ill health several years.

Lenora Lottie Johnson, daughter of James and Nellie Sorenson Johnson, was born April 1, 1910 at Emmetsburg, Iowa. When she was 6 months old she moved with her parents to Webster City and was reared and educated in this community.

She was united in marriage August 27, 1931 to Furman Davis. The couple had always farmed in the Stanhope vicinity. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. James (Joan) Klingaman of Des Moines, and Patricia Ann Davis at home. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jeff, Jon and Jamie Klingaman, one sister, Mrs. Carl Leopold of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lester and Leo Johnson.

Mrs. Davis was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
