Leona Clabaugh, 92, Stratford, formerly of Stanhope, died March 21, 1994 at the Stratford Care Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Church in Stanhope with the Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday.

Leona Elizabeth Wills, the daughter of Albert and Ardaline (Rountree) Wills, was born Sept. 3, 1901 at Mason County, Ill. At age 8, she moved with her parents to a farm north of Stanhope, where she attended rural school.

On Jan. 2, 1924 she married LeRoy Clabaugh at Webster City. The couple farmed in the Kamrar/Stanhope area, before moving to Stanhope in 1948.

After her husband's death in Dec. 1975, she continued to reside in Stanhope. She had been a resident of the Stratford Care Center since December of 1989.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Darlene Berry of Woolstock and Lorene and Ben Franklin of Boone, 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; seven great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Fuller and LaVonne Erickson of Stanhope and Lois Varland of Radcliffe; brother, Ralph Wills of Sacramento, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard, one grandson; her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Stanhope, Stanhope Senior Citizens, E.O.T. Club and the Christian Women's Fellowship.
