Goldie Clabaugh, 85, Stanhope, died Nov. 28, 1994 at Scenic Manor Care Center in Iowa Falls. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church at Stanhope with Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral home until 9 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Goldie Emma Marie Monson, daughter of Leonard and Esther (Swanson) Monson, was born Nov. 11, 1909 at Pipestone, Minn. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to the Stratford area where she attended rural school.

On Feb. 8, 1929, she married Charles Clabaugh at Boone. The couple farmed north of Stanhope. In 1944 they moved to a farm south of Stanhope. They also farmed near Kamrar for three years. In 1948, they bought a farm east of Stanhope. They retired in 1968 and continued to reside on the farm. Her husband died in January of 1990. She continued to reside on the family farm until October of this year.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Luverne Jansen of Williams, Doris Hayes of Maquoketa and Diane and Ron Miller of Webster City; son, Donald Clabaugh of Stanhope; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Luverne Monson of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Vernice Nelson and Ethel Mellgren.
