Mrs. Arthur (Gertie) Bockwoldt, 74, longtime Stanhope resident, died Thursday at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where she had been a patient for the past four days. She had been in ill health since last May.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope with the Rev. Enoch Hall officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 8 a.m. Saturday, when it will be taken to the church and lie in state there from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Gertrude Amanda Hoversten, daugher of Thor and Gjertrue Flattre Hoversten, was born Feb. 3, 1898, near Randall. She was educated in the rural school in the Randall area and later attended Waldorf college at Forest City.

She was united in marriage March 19, 1923 to Arthur F. Bockwoldt and the couple had always since lived on the family farm near Stanhope.

She is survived by her husband; one son and one daughter, Kenneth Bockwoldt of Stanhope and Mrs. Herb (Margaret) Christensen of River Falls, Wis.; four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and six brothers.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope. She had spent many years in youth work with the ALC of her church. She was also honored as a Master Homemaker.
