Harold E. Anderson, 59, longtime Stanhope resident, died Thursday morning at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, where he had been a patient the past week. He had been in failing health for seven years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist church in Stanhope with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating and with burial in Lawn Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.

Harold Earl Anderson, son of Hugh D. and Nora Healy Anderson, was born Aug. 3, 1915 at Stanhope where he was reared and educated.

He was married Jan. 21, 1947 to Ethel West, and the couple made their home in Stanhope. He was employed by Hamilton County.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Harold, Jr., and Murray; two grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Mrs. Harry (Marge) Storm of Lohrville, and George Anderson of Stanhope.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He was a member of the United Methodist church.
