Mrs. Jacob Obe Passes Away

Mrs. Jacob Obe, wife of one of the prominent farmers of the county, and a lady who for over a quarter century has enjoyed the highest esteem and respect of everybody in this community, passed away at her home six miles west of Jewell at one o'clock Sunday morning, Sept. 15th. Death came after a long and painful sickness from bowel and heart trouble. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from Zion Lutheran church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.J. Eastvold. The body was laid at rest in Zion cemetery.

Mrs. Obe was born in Norway, Feb. 7, 1861, being 51 years, 7 months and 8 days of age at the time of her death. In 1882 she came to America with her parents, and in February, 1884, she was married to Mr. Jacob Obe, at Roland. Mr. Obe and his bride soon after their marriage moved to Jewell and have resided in this community ever since. Nine children were born to them, the husband and seven children surviving to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and a loving mother.

The Record joins the hosts of friends in extending sincere condolences to the bereaved husband and children.
