JAMES OBE DIED IN COLORADO

Friends and relatives here were deeply shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden death of James Obe, which occurred Wednesday of last week at Longmont, Colo., where he had gone about two months ago in the hope that a change of climate would benefit his health.

James Marinus Obe was born to Jacob and Mary Obe at Stanhope, Iowa, April 4, 1897 and died at Longmont, Colo., November 17, 1920 at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 13 days. He was united in marriage to Marie Wing, May 1, 1918. To this union two children were born. A son, Harold, preceded his father in death. Besides his wife and six months baby he leaves his father and step-mother, now in Norway, and two brothers and three sisters, Joseph of Ames, Iowa, Martin, of Stanhope, Mrs. Nels Berven, of Stanhope, and Julia and Emma of Jewell.

His home had always been near Stanhope till two years ago when he went to Colorado for his health, where he improved so much that he returned a year later and moved to Minnesota where he lived for about a year. Last February he had the "flu" and since then, he was in poor health. Two months go he returned to Colorado with his wife and baby, where he hoped to regain his health. He was feeling better than usual on Tuesday but Wednesday morning he suddenly grew worse and died in half an hour, at 3:30 A.M. His wife and neighbors were at his bed-side. He seemed to know that the end was near, and his last words were: "God is my Refuge, Heaven is my Home." He always enjoyed hearing and talking about God's word and did not fear death.

A short service was held at the undertaking parlors at Longmont, Colorado, Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.M. Runestad, of that place. The body was brought to Jewell and services were held here at the Zion church by Rev. Wick, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment was made in Zion Cemetery.
