Jewell Record, Jewell, Iowa, Thursday, July 1, 1915

Henry Obe, second son of Mr. Jacob Obe, died Friday, June 25th, at the Oakdale tuberculosis sanitarium near Iowa City, of tuberculosis, at the age of 20 years, 5 months and 7 days. The body was brought to his home northwest of Jewell and funeral services were held Monday afternoon, at one o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from Zion Lutheran church, interment being made in the Zion church cemetery. Rev. Martin Norstad, the pastor, conducted the services.

Henry Obe was born on the home farm northwest of Jewell January 18, 1895, and lived there all his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, where he was confirmed in boyhood. He has failed for two years past, suffering from consumption. His mother died three years ago, the father, step-mother, three brothers, Joe, James and Martin, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Berven, Julia and Emma surviving him.

The Record extends deep sympathy to the bereaved ones in their hour of grief.
