Mrs. Katherine M. Wilmer, 94, former Alden-Ellsworth resident, died Saturday at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's church in Williams with Father Louis Zee officiating and with burial in the church cemetery.

Rosary will be at 9 o'clock this evening at Surls Funeral chapel in Williams.

Katherine Veerkamp [Vierkandt] was born Oct. 31, 1889 at Milhousen, Ind., the daughter of George and Katherine Veerkamp.

She was married to Edward Wilmer Feb. 10, 1915 at Milhousen, and in 1915 the family moved to Iowa, locating on a farm northwest of Webster City. In 1940 they moved to Alden and later in 1972 moved to Ellsworth.

She had been residing at the Heritage Care Center since August, 1980.

She is survived by one son, George Wilmer of Alden; two daughters, Mary Wilmer and Mrs. Orville (Betty) Ostebee, both of Ellsworth; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Herman Veerkamp of Blooming Prairie, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; three brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church and also the Women's Guild of the church.
