Lorene K. Wehrheim, 90, Webster City and a former Fort Dodge resident, died Jan. 26, 1996 at the Southfield Care Center in Webster City. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, with the Rev. John Walsh officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Williams Cemetery, Williams. There will be no visitation. Bruce's Funeral Home, Fort Dodge, is in charge of arrangements.

Lorene K. Wehrheim was born May 14, 1905 [to Conrad and Margaret Kearney Wehrheim] on a farm near Williams. She attended the rural schools and schools in Williams. She graduated from Rosary College in River Forest, Ill., in 1927. Afterward, she worked for the WPA offices in Webster City, then for the Internal Revenue Service in Des Moines for six years. She later worked in offices in Webster City and Fort Dodge until 1961, when she retired to care for her mother. In 1961, she started a Public Secretarial Service in her home in Webster City and operated the business until moving to Fort Dodge in 1977, where she continued the business.

She is survived by cousins.

She was a long-time member of the Webster City Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Fort Dodge.
