WILLIAMS - Fred C. Uthe, 82, of Williams died Friday, Feb. 15 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today (Monday, Feb. 18) at Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams. There will be a scripture service tonight at 7 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He was born Aug. 17, 1908, at Gilbert, the son of Frank and Martha Elsner Uthe. He attended the Boone County schools.

On Jan. 24, 1933, he married Evelyn Baldus at St. Peter's and Paul's Catholic Church in Gilbert.

The couple farmed in the Gilbert, Jewell, Alden and Williams areas until retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Pauline Tibbs of Alden; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bertha Day and Anne Garvey of Boone, Elizabeth Ivis of Eagle Grove, and Dorothy Welsh of Colo; and two brothers, Sylvester of Nevada and Ray of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Francis; one great-grandson; four sisters and six brothers.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Williams.
