WILLIAMS - Ruth Mealio Spanier, daughter of Fred and Jennie Clark Mealio, was born at Salem, S.D., on April 8, 1886.

When about a year old she moved with her parents to Byron, Ill., where she grew to womanhood.

In 1904 she came to Williams and was married to Fred Spanier at Webster City on March 11, 1904. The Spaniers spent their entire married life in and around Williams. Mrs. Spanier died Dec. 17, 1960 at the Story City hospital.

Surviving are her husband, two children, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Wilson of Iowa Falls and William of Laurens, Iowa; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ben (Ethel) Smith, Limon, Colo.; Mrs. Minnie Burkett and Mrs. Wilda Van Cleve of Bemidji, Minnesota, Mrs. Lois Flaws of Shevlin, Minn., and Paul Mealio of Bemidji.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1960 at the Methodist church with burial in the Williams [St. Mary's Catholic] cemetery.
