WILLIAMS - Funeral services for Frank J. Smith, 82, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Williams with Father Clarence Kruse officiating and with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.

A scripture service is planned at ? o'clock tonight at Surls Funeral chapel in Williams.

Mr. Smith, a longtime resident of the Williams-Blairsburg area, died Monday night at the Southfield Nursing home in Webster City.

Frank James Smith, son of Peter and Nellie O'Neill Smith, was born at Blairsburg Nov. 16, 1898. He was reared and educated in that area.

On Jan. 8, 1924, he was married to Margaret Maubach at Williams, and the couple had farmed since in the Blairsburg-Williams area.

He is survived by two sons, Harold Smith of Dunlap and Robert Smith of Ellsworth; three daughters, Mrs. Leo (Lorene) Butler of Williams, Mrs. Harold (Leona) Keane of Jewell and Mrs. Harold (Berniece) Brighton of Ankeny; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Smith of Knoxville and Pete Smith of Jewell; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Thompson of Alden, Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy of Perry and Mrs. Mayme Doyle of Williams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He was a member of St. Mary's church.
