Mrs. Mary Olsen Scott was born Feb. 12, 1886 and died Oct. 30, 1930, at Mercy hospital at Des Moines following an illness of about five weeks. Mrs. Scott was a daughter of Mrs. Mary Olsen [Nels and Mary Duffy Olson], of Williams, and spent most of her life in Williams. During the past fourteen years she spent considerable time working in Des Moines and was employed there at the time she became ill. Besides her mother, who was with her daughter all during her illness, Mrs. Scott is survived by six brothers. They are: Albert and Charles Olsen, of Williams; Lee Olsen, of Des Moines; Matt Olsen, of Manson; Frank Olsen, of Webster City and Peter Olsen of Watertown, S.D.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church in Williams, Friday, Oct. 31 and burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery.

The friends and relatives from a distance who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Olson and two daughters of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. P.V. Olson, of Watertown, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duffy, jr., of Oldham, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olson and two daughters, of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Olson and two daughters, of Manson; Mrs. James Crawford and daughter, of Barnum; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Duffy and son, of Boone; Mrs. K.A. O'Malley, of Lawler; Mrs. Winters, jr., of Dubuque; Mrs. John Schaan, of Pomeroy; James Duffy, of Waterloo; John Duffy, of Duncombe; Mrs. Sarah Shannon and son, of Vincent; Mrs. Hans Hausler, Joseph, Boniface and Aloicious Duffy, all of Fairbank; Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hermanson, of Story City; Mrs. Earl Statts, of Rockwell City; Mrs. James Brennan, of Richards; Mrs. Fanny Clagg, Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, Mrs. Bell Olthoff and daughter, Amy Olthoff, all of Webster City, and Wilmer Whiolom, Miss Mary McGary, Miss Mary Grelson and Miss Catherine O'Loughlin, all of Des Moines.

[the correct spelling of her maiden name is Olson - not Olsen as in the body of the obituary - she married Mathew Scott - he is buried in the Williams Cemetery]
