Donald Riley, 69, Marshalltown, died April 4, 1997, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Williams, with Rev. Philip Recker officiating. The body will be cremated and there will be no visitation. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Francis Riley, son of Howard and Margaret O'Hara [O'Hare] Riley, was born June 5, 1927, in Alden. He was educated in Blairsburg. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army - Second Infantry Headquarters. On March 31, 1960, he married Leola Fay Crandall Chase in Blue Earth, Minn. The couple resided in Fort Dodge. He was engaged in carpenter work. He also was employed at U.S. Gypsum in Fort Dodge for several years. The couple later divorced. He resided in Somers for several years. He moved to the Iowa Veterans Home in Knoxville in 1987 and to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown in 1996.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Margie Riley; two nieces; and five nephews; three great-nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; one niece; and brothers, James and Joseph Riley.

Mr. Riley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams.
