Lowell Dagit, 68, Williams, died Thursday, May 28, 1998 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services took place this morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams, with Fathers Rick Dagit and Raymond Burkle officiating. Surls Funeral Home of Williams was in charge of arrangements.

Lowell Dean Dagit, son of Raymond E. and Alma (Arnold) Dagit, was born May 30, 1929 in Churdan. He graduated from Williams High School in 1947 and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. On Sept. 24, 1951, he married Colleen Doyle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams. He had farmed, worked at Clear View Dairy in Blairsburg and worked for the City of Williams.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Rev. Rick Dagit, Eldora, and Randy and Rodney Dagit, both of Williams; a brother William Dagit, Iowa Falls; seven sisters, Edith Nerland, Williams, Leona Norton, Seattle, Wash., Avis Schorer, Bloomington, Minn., Alice Keane, Williams, Phyllis Olson, Ellsworth, Elsie Miller, LaGrange, Ill., and Mary Lapp, Marietta, Ga., a sister-in-law, Eileen Dagit, Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Dorian.

Mr. Dagit was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Williams, American Legion Post 633 and Williams City Council.
