Kathy Fagervik, 62, of Webster City, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational-Blairsburg with Reverend Paul Fischer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the church.

Kathryn Eileen Arbaugh, daughter of Wayne and Dorene West Arbaugh, was born February 28, 1954 in Cedar Falls. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1972. She married Arne Wayne Fagervik on June 26, 1976 in Webster City. The couple resided in Blairsburg. Kathy worked at Iowa Miss and Mrs, Leon’s and ran a home daycare. After graduating from Iowa State University she taught for the Webster City School System for 21 years, first at Sunset Elementary and currently at the Webster City Middle School.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Arne of Blairsburg; daughters, Sarah Fagervik of Webster City, Debbie Fagervik of Webster City, Jenny Fagervik of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Ben Youngdale, David and Maja Gordon; brother, Rick (Marlene) Arbaugh of Webster City; step-brothers; Steve (Shel) Mourlam of Webster City, Jeff (Dee) Mourlam of Webster City, Dennis (Tina) Mourlam of Stanhope, Mark (Lori) Mourlam of Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Mervin Mourlam; brother, Randy Arbaugh.

Kathy was a very active member of the United Church of Christ Congregational-Blairsburg, singing in the church choir and teaching bible and Sunday school. She was a past Girl Scout Leader and NEH School Board Member. She was also a member of the PTO and the Blairsburg City Improvement Association.
